Crackle Medium
Apply base coat. Let dry. Brush on one even coat of Crackle Medium. Allow to dry. Apply contrasting top coat of acrylic color. You may paint or antique on dry top coat. Missed areas may be touched up immediately. Lightly seal with Clear Gel Varnish or Clear Acrylic Matte/Satin Finish.
Two very important things to remember:

  • This is only used with a water-based paint.
  • Never over-brush when applying a top coat of paint.

If you have never used Crackle Medium before, it is a good idea to do a practice piece and get the feel of the medium. Clean up with soap and water.

Chalk Powder
Add this powder to your Acrylic Latex or Simulated Milk Paints to give them the look and feel of Chalk Paints. Very easy to use, can be mixed in with water to make a slurry or can be added to the paint in the dry form to make it as thick or thin as you would like for your project.

Gel Varnish/Stain
A low odor, solventborne product designed to color and protect interior wood surfaces all in one product. Combines high quality pigments with polyurethane resins to form a long lasting, mar and scratch resistant finish that exhibits a soft, satin appearance. Gel consistency allows easier working and less dripping than ordinary stains and provides for a more even appearance. Mineral Spirits cleanup. Available in 6 ready mix colors that can be intermixed to make hundreds of additional shades in pint, quart and gallon. Dry to recoat in 2-4 hours, topcoat in 18-24 and fully cured 5-7 days.
